NFL fans are getting closer to the action with the launch of official betting for football games. The NFL has signed deals with draftkings, FanDuel, and Caesars Entertainment to incorporate sports betting content into broadcasts this fall. These deals will give all three companies exclusive access to NFL content and allow fans to wager on football games online.
The deal also extends the partnership between FanDuel and the PGA TOUR. The two organizations have worked together for several years to provide fans with odds-based content. The agreement also gives FanDuel the right to advertise on TOUR media and distribute highlights to FanDuel bettors. The new deal will run through 2024.
NBA, NHL, and MLB have also signed deals with betting companies. Five NFL teams have also made deals with casinos to offer betting options. New Hampshire is reaping the benefits of legalized betting. In Canada, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and PointsBet have partnered to offer sports betting on several brands. Nevertheless, some leagues fear that the use of unofficial data might compromise the integrity of their games.
If the game is over prior to an official termination, bets on it will be invalid. Officially-determined betting odds are available on official sites and bookmakers use this information to determine odds.
