NFL Announces New Official Betting Partners

NFL football fans are likely to get an exciting new addition this season: official betting partners. The league recently announced a multiyear deal with DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars Entertainment to allow them to incorporate betting content into their NFL Network broadcasts. While many sportsbooks have partnered with the NFL in the past, they aren’t allowed to market this relationship outside of their local markets. Here are a few of the advantages of official betting partners.

Wagr is a social marketplace company that makes verbal bets official. They calculate point spreads and offer customers the chance to place bets against friends. Wagr was founded by former Harvard students and will have an exclusive presence in Nashville SC’s new stadium and open activation tents at the stadium. This partnership is a good move for both the league and the fans. The NFL is making an effort to educate the public about the benefits of sports betting, but this could be a dangerous precedent.

FanDuel’s relationship with the PGA TOUR is also significant. The two organizations plan to offer branded fan experiences throughout the Memorial Tournament. While this will definitely be a step up for the average golf fan, the company’s entry into the golf market was the Memorial Tournament. It has since leveraged its influence to become the official betting partner of the entire PGA Tour. In addition to having exclusive rights to all PGA Tour intellectual property and marks, it will have access to video highlights and fan-generated content.
